We all know the Hudson Valley is a top travel destination in the Spring, Summer and Fall. New Paltz is only 80 miles from New York City, making it a perfect destination for a quick getaway. But why not take a trip in the winter? We've decided to put together a list of our top winter activites in the Mid-Hudson Valley to show you how great New Paltz can really be December-March.
1. Hike, ski or snowshoe in the mountains
New Paltz is at the base of the Shawangunk Mountains making it a great destination for all adventure seekers. Pack your snow gear and get ready for beautiful snowy sights. Our B&B is less than 10 miles from Mohonk Preserve and Minnewaska State Park. Both provide miles of trails to explore! Don't have your own equipment? You can even rent cross country skis in downtown New Paltz at Rock and Snow.
2. Go Ice Skating
Ice skating has a way of bringing out your inner child and making you smile ear to ear. Mohonk Mountain House has a magical open air ice skating pavilion with a fire pit. If indoor arenas are more up your alley then head over to Ice Time Sports Complex in Newburgh. Get ready to lace up your skates and enjoy yourself at one of these local rinks.
3. Take a private cooking class
Our signature cooking workshops are the perfect way to enjoy a unique night out! Set in our private kitchen studio space, you will work one on one with a local chef and enjoy an unforgettable cooking class experience. Give us a call at 845-419-2661 to request more information.
4. Relaxation
If you are seeking a little less adventure and a little more r&r, our Bed and Breakfast in New Paltz can provide you with the perfect setting to do so. We like to call it a 'relax-acation'. Cuddle up in your private guest room or in our living room. You could even book a spa treatment at a local spa.
Are you ready to pack your bags and head to New Paltz this winter? With only 4 guest rooms and 15 acres of farmland, our intimate B&B is a great destination for a secluded, safe getaway. We have changed our daily routines and are following all CDC guidelines to ensure that our guests have a safe and comfortable stay. Start planning your escape now.
